OSI Food Solutions: Unveiling a High-End Production Line

OSI Food Solutions is one of the subsidiaries of the OSI Group, the largest meat processing corporation in the world today. The OSI Food Solutions is operating in Spain, and they recently unveiled their newest high-capacity production line that was built in the city of Toledo, Spain. The facility sits on an area that occupies more than 20,000 square feet of floor size. The high-capacity production line is also known for its capacity to process more than 24,000 tons of chicken meat per year. Before the creation of the facility in Toledo, OSI Food Solutions is only able to process 12,000 tons of chicken meat per year. Additionally, the OSI Food Solutions stated that their newest facility could also handle more than 40,000 tons of livestock meat, and that includes pork, beef, veal, and so much more.

The director at the OSI Food Solutions explained that the people of Spain and Portugal have an increasing demand for chicken meat. Based on recent studies, the Spanish and the Portuguese people have increased their consumption of chicken from 6% to 8%, and it is projected to increase further in the years to come. To prepare for the growing demand on chicken meat, the OSI Food Solutions proposed the creation of a high-capacity production line that was approved by the board of directors back at the OSI Group headquarters in the United States.

The local population of Toledo is benefiting from the facility because it gave 20 locals a job. Presently, 140 employees are working at the OSI Food Solutions facility in Toledo, and this number is expected to increase as more people will be hired once they decided to increase production.

The facility in Toledo, Spain is one of the facilities owned by the OSI Group. They have more than 50 facilities operating today, and each facility produces a product that is in demand, especially within the locals’ preference. According to David McDonald, the creation of overseas production line is one of the goals of the OSI Group. He wanted to dominate the industry, and one of the easiest ways to introduce the product to the population is to manufacture it near their homes. They have taken this strategy in Spain, where the OSI Group founded the OSI Food Solutions and recruited the locals to work for the company. Today, the site in Spain is one of the most productive facilities that the company built.
